Complexity is all round us - in our project briefs, decision making, policy design and implementation. Collaborating with stakeholders who have different needs, expectations, process requirements and timelines is a key expectation of planners, designers, project managers and policy makers. How can we use the process of stakeholder collaboration to build understanding, ownership and a better informed outcome? What strategies help to mitigate the risks of delays, conflict, misalignment of outcomes?
If you are working in an environment that requires multi-stakeholder engagement in decision-making and co-design then this is an opportunity to build your skills and identify strategies to better manage complex collaborations. We will explore the principles of successful collaboration and how to apply these in an urban planning and design context. An engaging and highly participatory workshop! Participants will be invited to bring a 'case study' to the workshop if they wish for analysis and coaching.
