A spatial digital twin is a virtual model of a place that brings together 3D and 4D (time-enabled) spatial data, analytics, and real-time sensor information, and provides a user-friendly way to visualise and share it. Digital twins are revolutionising how we manage our natural and built environments, how we communicate the value of places, and how we represent change to a range of stakeholders to promote transparent and integrated decision making.
The purpose of this course is to provide attendees with a high-level understanding of digital twin concepts and foundational technologies, and then to apply those concepts to a range of real-world applications using the Digital Twin Victoria (DTV) platform. The DTV platform is a free and open web-based platform that brings together over 4,000 local, state and national datasets, making it easier than ever before for Victorians’ access to high-value spatial information and analytics.
The course will also introduce planners to the range of tools and visualisation technologies being used across the Victorian state and local government digital twin ecosystem and explore how these interrelate and complement each other.
Designed for
Town planners, urban designers, strategic planners and other professionals and consultants engaged in planning activities.
